About Education: I have just recieved my degree in Cognitive Science specializing in Human Computer Interaction from the University of California, San Diego in June of 2005. I also recieved a minor in Photography. On User Centered Design: Interfaces, whether they are websites, software programs, or the interior of a car, should not be confusing and difficult to use. The best interfaces are those which slip seemlessly into our lives, so that we are not forced to spend a great deal of time figuring out how to make them do what we want them to do. And those who create the interfaces may be so proficient in their understanding of the technology they create, that they loose the ability to step away and judge whether those who do not know their piece of technology, ie. their users, will understand their product as well as they do. The way in which the user interacts with a product must be taken into account, since the product, in the end, is created for the user. On Photography: I have been an avid photographer for over six years now, and involved in various school papers including The UCSD Guardian. Photography is a way to capture a moment in history and share that moment with others. In some ways it involves a great deal of luck to be in the right place at the right time, but it also takes a keen and trained eye to adjust the frame to include or exclude the details that can make or break a photograph. In some ways, life can be all about the seemingly inconsequential details and how they affect the frame of your life. |
